Auto Slalom:
"Just
Bring It!!"
The 2008 Auto Slalom has been canceled
until further notice.
No other performance measurement highlights a car and drivers total performance
package like an auto slalom. So this year in the its sophomore season as
part of Street Machine Weekend we have dedicated more room for a larger
and FASTER
track and have moved the event to Sunday morning so we have some more time
to set a fast lap.
The Street Wheelers encourage you to bring classic muscle car, hot rod,
import tuner, or pro touring unit to our auto slalom, show us what
you’ve got!
So bring your cruiser, grocery getter, drag car or
best of all corner carver out and put on your best driving shoes and let’s see what you’ve
got!!
What is the auto slalom?
Briefly, vehicles are timed around a marked course using sophisticated
electronic timing equipment. Vehicles begin the course from a standing
start, and, upon
the appropriate signal, negotiate as quickly as possible a fast and
technical course laid out using pylons in order to reach the finish
line. Vehicles
are grouped into classes depending on what variety of performance enhancing
equipment
is installed on the vehicle and the number and configuration of its
drive wheels. Vehicles will qualify in their respective class by posting
one
of the five
fastest ET’s (in their class) during “qualifying” rounds.
The five fastest vehicles in each class will then proceed to a final
round, where the
fastest ET of the round will determine the winner in each class.
