For 2008, participating vehicles in the auto
slalom will be classed as follows:
Auto Slalom Classes
All vehicles in the auto slalom must be insured and registered, and competitors
may be required to complete a road test.
In response to participant request, Classes are now defined by the number
of performance adding components found on the vehicle as well as which wheels
are
propelling the vehicle. The list of identified performance adders is as follows:
Performance Adders:
For the purpose of this competition rear wheel drive will
be considered a performance adder and all wheel drive vehicles will be in a
class of their own.
Any engine power adder:
Turbochargers, Superchargers or Nitrous Oxide will count
as 1 performance adder each.
Larger/Fatter wheel and tire combinations (aftermarket wheels will be considered
a performance adder unless proven stock size and width.) will count as 1
performance adder each.
Lower suspension
Cylinder designation: 4 cyl or less = 1 point, 6 cyl = 2 points, 8 cyl and
larger = 3 points.
Drive configuration:FWD = 0, RWD = 1, AWD = 5
Classes:
Begin with a 4 cylinder FWD and add 1 point for each performance adder
to a max of 5 points. All Wheel Drive cars will have a class of their own
