Cruise Control: Rules & Regulations:
The starting point and registration for the cruise starts at 5:00pm on 18th
Street and 3rd Avenue between LCI and CCH high schools. Participation is $10/vehicle.
Street Wheeler Car Club members will be on hand to determine who will be eligible
for the Cruise Control event and cars will be picked based on their appeal
to spectators.
The cruise will start at the corner of 18th Street and 3rd Avenue and the
turn around point will be the block west of Galt Gardens. Logistically, it
has been determined that 3rd Avenue is expected to hold a maximum of 500 cars
during the Cruise Control. Roadways leading into 3rd Avenue will be blocked
off and manned by volunteers from 7:00 pm to 10pm, with the exception of 13th
Street and Stafford Drive where traffic will be controlled manually by the
City Traffic and Police department. All other lights on 3rd Ave will flash
amber, pedestrians are encouraged and reminded to cross only at intersections
throughout the event.
